Number of 100 degree or higher days this summer in the U.S.

Here is a map highlighting the number of days this summer (June 1st - August 31st) that experienced 100 degree weather or higher.  There were six days this summer where the mercury climbed to 100° or more in Rockford: one day in June and five in July. 

Look how many days of heat were felt in the desert southwest and through the Plains!  Amazing!
