A Fairly Comfortable Week on the Way

We reached the midpoint of summer on Sunday... August the 5th.  So, on Monday we will start the last half of summer.  There appears to be a change in the air.  It may be a little early to say, but the blistering heat we have had to endure for the past couple of months seems to be a thing of the past.  Here is the encouraging news...  As of this writing, only one 90 degree day is expected during the next week.  The National Weather Service longer range outlook indicates temperatures expected to be close to normal in the 6 to 10 day period, and the 8 to 14 day period.  That's fabulous news if it verifies because our area has been running above normal to much above normal for such a long time.  Time will tell.

It will be cool overnight with clear skies and calm winds.  The low will be in the middle 50's.  High pressure will, shift slowly to the east on Monday.  After a cool start, it will warm into the mid 80's in the afternoon under sunny skies with low humidity.   It will be mostly clear again on Monday night, but it will not be as cool with a low around 63 degrees.  A cool front will slowly descend southward across Wisconsin on Tuesday.  Temperatures in advance of the front will heat up to around 90 degrees on Tuesday afternoon.  There could be some isolated showers and thunderstorms as the front approaches northern Illinois.  Fronts will be in the vicinity on Wednesday, and temperatures will drop a few degrees for afternoon highs into the middle 80's.  There could be some scattered showers and thunderstorms from time to time from Wednesday night through Thursday into Thursday night.  It does not appear as if there will be a lot of support for any needed significant rainfall, but at least, there is a chance of some rain.  Canadian high pressure will take control for the end of the week through next weekend, and provide some very pleasant weather for the Stateline.  Highs on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will be in the upper 70's under mostly sunny skies.  Low temperatures at night will be in the upper 50's to the low 60's.
