In other words, whether your day starts before sunrise or sometime during the afternoon, prepare for a rainy, cooler, and breezy Friday.
Low pressure swinging into central Illinois will allow scattered rain to be likely for much of the day. Winds will be out of the east-northeast prior to the frontal passage, limiting highs to the mid 40s.
Following the departure of our late week rain-maker, another shot of cold air filters into the Great Lakes. That, along with a rather cool northwesterly wind will bring high down a few more degrees for Saturday, landing most in the low 40s.
On a positive note, we get ride of Saturday's breeze and chilly air by Sunday. Highs will once again climb towards the 50° mark under partly cloudy skies. From there, a ridge of high pressure takes control of our atmosphere, resulting in multiple 60° days next week. The peak of this upcoming warm stretch comes Tuesday as highs aim for the upper 60s.
Next chance for rain doesn't appear until Wednesday night and next Thursday!
