Wet pattern returns midweek

Following Monday's heavy rainfall in the Midwest, another wet pattern is taking shape.

Already the rain has been falling through the southern Plains and northeast along the cold front that passed southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois Monday night.  Low pressure in Oklahoma Tuesday night will lift northeast following the jet stream.  The low will track into Missouri, central Illinois and into northern Indiana by Thursday morning.

In anticipation of the rain, Flash Flood Watches have been issued for nearly the entire state of Missouri, central and southern Illinois and further east.  Nearly two, plus, inches of rain could fall in states that have already received significant amounts of flooding rain over the past week and a half.

Closer to home, we'll be right on the northern edge of the heaviest rain, but I do anticipate some showers to occur towards Wednesday mid-afternoon and evening.
