Northeast winds have been increasing Wednesday evening as low pressure strengthens over the central Plains. Sustained winds are anywhere between 20-30 mph area wide, but wind gusts have been close to 50 mph over northwest Illinois! Strong northeast winds will continue into Thursday before relaxing a little by Thursday night. The strong winds will make travel difficult Thursday, especially with high profile vehicles.
