After another day of storm surveys, the National Weather Service in Chicago has now confirmed EIGHT tornadoes across portions of northern Illinois and Indiana on Monday night. The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities even confirmed a tornado overnight Sunday in Carroll County.

You can find the complete report (so far) of the Carroll Co. tornado from NWS Quad Cities here.
The other eight tornadoes confirmed by the NWS Chicago office are as follows:
Earlville - EF-1 - 110mph
Southwest Kendall County - EF-1 - 100mph
Plainfield/Romeoville - EF-1 - 95mph
TWO Northwest of Grant Park - EF-1 - 100-110mph
ONE Northeast of Grant Park - EF-1 - 110mph
Southeast of Lowell, Indiana - EF-1 - 110mph
Near DeMotte, Indiana - EF-1 - 100-105mph
Photos and more details of these tornadoes from NWS Chicago can be found here.
Many of these tornadoes were a result of two derechos that moved through the Stateline on Monday. A derecho is just a fancy name for a widespread, long-lived wind storm. So on top of the tornadoes, 80-100mph winds battered most of northern Illinois during this severe event. You can read more about derechos here. -BA
