A line of storms tracked across Iowa overnight and early Thursday morning, but that system continued to weaken and break apart. Portions of the Stateline did see some of the rain, but not everyone, and rain is needed across Illinois and Wisconsin. All of Wisconsin is either running abnormally dry, or under a moderate drought. Twenty one percent of Illinois, all in northern Illinois, is considered abnormally dry.
This is a big jump for Illinois, because just last week only 2% of the state was dry.
In Wisconsin, the moderate drought expanded from 12% to 55%.
Looking ahead into the next couple of weeks, the pattern begins to change and we see the possibility of a little more rain through the end of next week.
