Light rain showers are slowly moving in from the southwest Thursday
evening as an upper level disturbance moves through the Midwest. As the
rain moves into northern Illinois it will encounter a little more dry
air overhead, causing most of the shower activity to remain light.
Scattered showers are expected through the overnight.
A cold front stretching through the Plains Thursday evening will slowly
move east during the day Friday, crossing the western Great Lakes by
Saturday morning. Scattered showers will become more likely during the
day Friday as cloud cover increases, but shouldn't stop temperatures
from warming into the low 60s.
A cold front will move through late Friday night with showers, and even
an isolated thunderstorm or two. As the cold front passes Saturday
morning, high pressure will move in for the afternoon. This will bring
temperatures down into the low to mid 50s Saturday, upper 50s for
Sunday. Rainfall totals across northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin
should remain around a quarter of an inch, or less through Saturday
morning.
