Become a trained storm spotter

You know spring is approaching when the National Weather Service begins their spring storm spotter training classes.  The next one will be Thursday, March 12th, in Freeport, Illinois at Highland Community College on Pearl City Road.  The class begins at 6:30pm, with registration beginning at 6pm.  The class if free to the public, and it's suggested that you arrive a little early as seats will go fast.

If you've ever had an interest in severe weather, you'll want to attend.  While in the class, you'll learn all about storm structure, different types of storms, what storm reports are vital to forecasters at the Weather Service, along with other useful information.
