Tuesday Morning Weather Update

10:15am Update: There will still be a little light freezing drizzle throughout the morning, but any more accumulating snow or ice is done.  Continue to exercise caution on the roads through the afternoon.

7:30am Update:  Back edge of the wintry weather moving east of the Mississippi River.  Looks like we'll still get a couple more hours of this mess before conditions (weather-wise) improve for the afternoon.  Roads will still be tough, though, into the afternoon.

The snow was quick to come down and accumulate on the roads, but now we're starting to get reports of sleet and freezing rain mixing in with the snow as of 6am.  Snow amounts so far are right around an inch, but as temperatures continue to warm up above the snow will mix with sleet and freezing rain through the morning - roughly through 11am.  This will continue through the morning commute keeping roads snow covered and slick.

Road conditions will be at their worst through the morning, but as temperatures begin to warm above freezing this afternoon roads conditions will improve through late afternoon and evening.
