Isolated Thunderstorms Monday Evening; Severe Weather Out West

Heavy rain and thunderstorms moved through most of northern Illinois Monday morning with isolated activity holding steady through the afternoon and evening. The last bit of storm activity is now pushing into southern Wisconsin, leaving our skies partly cloudy through much of the evening.

A Tornado Watch has been issued for much of Iowa until 10pm as severe thunderstorms have started to develop. Strong to severe storms will remain to our west through the evening, but move closer to the Stateline after Midnight. Severe weather is not expected, but the storms could contain very heavy rainfall. The majority of the storm activity should be done by the morning with only isolated thunder chances during the afternoon. Depending on how quickly the morning storms move out will determine just how warm we will get during the day. The longer it takes for storms to move on, the longer it'll take for temperatures to rise. However, if storm activity is light during the morning then temperatures will warm quickly, pushing the middle 80s during the afternoon.
