Heavy Rain Possible Again this Week

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for the Pecatonica River near Shirland beginning late Wednesday night and lasting through Saturday afternoon. Disturbances moving through aloft from west to east will continue to cause periods of unstable weather across the stateline this week. With all the humidity we have available near the surface, any storms that do develop this week could produce heavy rain. Also, a complex of thunderstorms could develop in the central Plains tonight, and move into northwest Illinois by daybreak with the threat of heavy rain in the near term (a somewhat similar scenario to last night). For this reason, a Flash Flood Watch is in effect for Stephenson county through tomorrow morning. --TS
