Heavy rain fell across much of the Stateline this morning with totals ranging from over an inch in places like Monroe, Freeport and Savanna to less than half an inch south and southeast of Rockford.
Low pressure will continue to move east over Lake Michigan this afternoon with earlier wind gusts near 50 mph finally beginning to relax. A weak frontal boundary in place across the Stateline may act as the focal point for an isolated thunderstorm or two later this afternoon but thunderstorms developing in the central Plains today will once again lift north and northeast tonight and early Tuesday. The rain threat will continue into Tuesday with another round of heavy rain and thunderstorms Tuesday night into Wednesday.
