As you take your first steps out the door, you can definitely feel the difference in not only the temperature, but also the humidity. Earlier this morning, a warm front passed through the region placing us inside the "warm sector". This is the part of a low pressure system where strong southwesterly winds transports very warm moist air in from the south. Dew points have already risen this morning into what I call the "nasty" category, the mid to upper 70s.
It will continue to feel hot and humid throughout the rest of our Wednesday. Highs for the second day in a row will top out in the low 90s. Once again, plenty of sunshine is in the forecast. Please make sure to not only stay hydrated during this summertime heat, but to make sure that you protect your skin from the suns rays as much as possible. The UV index for the 3rd straight day is at a 9. So make sure limit sun exposure or slather on the sunscreen if you have any outdoor plans this afternoon.

Once that cold front passes through, wind flow at the surface will switch from the southwest to the northwest. This will bring in a less muggy and cooler air mass into the region for our Thursday. A few models did have a few isolated showers popping up early tomorrow afternoon. But other than that, skies will remain partly cloudy and high temperatures will be 10-15 degrees cooler. The best news is, we will also get a much needed break from the humidity. Stay hydrated Stateline!
