It has been a very wet weekend, with a large majority of the Stateline seeing between 2-4" of rain or more Friday through Sunday. Below are a few select reports from airport observations and Weather Watchers in the region.

Locations around Amboy saw the heaviest of the rain Saturday night, producing some flash flooding in Southern Lee County. The flood warning along the Green River there was extended to run through 11AM Monday. Expect the Rock, Kishwaukee, and Pecatonica Rivers to swell in the coming days as the large swath of rainfall drains into larger rivers.

The cooler, fall-like pattern does not go away anytime soon with afternoon highs remaining in the low 60s for Monday and Tuesday. A few lighter showers may be possible from time to time Monday afternoon and evening, but rainfall will not be nearly as widespread or heavy as it was over the weekend.

Gradually, stronger high pressure will slide overhead, working to bring a few pockets of sunshine Wednesday and Thursday. While not much, this will aid to warm us back into the upper 60s and eventually low 70s by the end of the week. Most of the area will be dry after Tuesday, but a few showers may clip the region later in the week.
