Where's the Warmth?

I'm sure a lot of us have been wondering where the warmth has been so far this winter.  Looking at the calendar spring begins March 20th, but Meteorological Spring begins March 1st.  Our good friends at the National Weather Service in Romeoville took a look at just how many days we've seen so far where temperatures have been above the 40° mark.  On average, Rockford should see about 18 days with temperatures above 40°.  So far this winter there have only been four:

Dec 1st - 56°
Dec 2nd - 42°
Jan 23rd - 41°
Jan 24th - 41°

If we include the two other days where we were right at 40° (December 25th and January 14th) then we've only had six days with 40° or above.  When is spring coming?
