Unusual November Cold Snap

We have just begun what will be a prolonged cold snap across the Stateline. We haven't seen this kind of cold this early in the season too many times, either.

Here's a list of times when highs stayed below 40° for at least a week this early in the cold season. As you can see, it's a short list. The last time we saw a prolonged cold snap in November was 1996.

Breaking it down even further, two of those cold snaps saw highs that stayed below 35° for a week or more. Both of those impressive cold blasts occurred in the 1950s, but we have the chance of staying below 35° through most of next week.

The 7-Day Forecast keeps us stuck in the 30s through at least the middle of next week. Models are suggesting a warm-up to near-normal temperatures may not happen until the end of next week. -BA
