7:45pm Update: Snow looks to be done for the night and from the reports we've received, area roads appear to be in pretty decent shape. Next chance for snow is Wednesday for areas along the I-88 corridor.

6:00pm Update: Snow is starting to push out of the Stateline, but slick roads will remain a concern for the rest of the evening. Areas with falling snow will also have the possibility of seeing lowered visibilities.

Original Post: A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for southern Wisconsin beginning this afternoon and lasting through the evening.  Very light snow has been falling this morning as an upper level disturbance moves through west-central Illinois, but this isn't the snow we're expecting later today.  Skies are beginning to clear to the west, but for most we'll stay mostly cloudy through the afternoon.

A fast moving clipper system will bring a quick shot of snow later today, adding up to 3 inches, possibly more, for some this afternoon.  The snow will come with light winds, but there could be a couple hours today where the snow falls moderately.  This will allow it to quickly accumulate on the roads causing some issues for the afternoon and evening commutes.  Snow will begin around 2pm to 3pm, a little earlier in southwest Wisconsin, and continue through 10pm.  Highest totals will occur north of Highway 20 towards the state line where most will receive 2 to 3 inches.  Isolated 4 inch totals may occur for cities near the state line.
