A Flash Flood Warning remains in effect for Winnebago and Boone counties until 12:15 Tuesday morning.  A line of very heavy rain producing thunderstorms developed right along Highway 20 Monday late afternoon, producing rainfall rates up to two inches per hour!

There have been several reports of flooding throughout Rockford, with reports of numerous cars stalling out from trying to drive through flooded roadways.  Please remember to 'Turn around, Don't drown' and find another route.  Flooding is a very dangerous situation, especially when you're unsure of how deep the water may be.

The storms are beginning to break apart some as of 7:30pm, but heavier pockets of rain will continue.  Scattered thunderstorms will remain possible with the southward shifting cold front through the overnight.
