McHenry County Warning

Update: The storms in northeast McHenry county have been responsible for some pretty good-size hail and flooding. There is a report in now of 8 to 12 inches of water on route 12 near highway 173 in Richmond. Also near Spring Grove, we have a report of 1" diameter hail at about 4:07pm.

Report of 55 to 60 mph winds and heavy rain at Okeson Rd. 1/2 mile west of Greenwood Rd. three miles east/southeast of Hebron... Here's the warning:

LAKE AND NORTHEASTERN MCHENRY COUNTIES UNTIL 415 PM CDT...



AT 334 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING QUARTER SIZE HAIL...AND

DESTRUCTIVE WINDS IN EXCESS OF 70 MPH. THIS STORM WAS LOCATED JUST

NORTH OF WONDER LAKE...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 10 MPH.



WIND GUSTS TO 60 MPH WERE REPORTED IN NORTHEAST HEBRON TOWNSHIP.

PISTAKEE HIGHLANDS...FOX LAKE...ANTIOCH...LAKE VILLA...LONG LAKE...

VENETIAN VILLAGE...RICHMOND...LAKEMOOR...SUNNYSIDE...SPRING

GROVE...CHANNEL LAKE...LAKE CATHERINE...LINDENHURST...FOX LAKE

HILLS...ROUND LAKE HEIGHTS AND ROUND LAKE BEACH.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



PREPARE IMMEDIATELY FOR LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS IF YOU ARE IN

THE PATH OF THIS STORM. PEOPLE OUTSIDE SHOULD MOVE TO A SHELTER...

PREFERABLY INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING AND AWAY FROM WINDOWS.
