A Hot Start to the Week!
A warm front approaching from the south overnight could generate some widely scattered showers, and thunderstorms after midnight, and during the morning hours on Monday. Monday afternoon will become mostly sunny, hot, and humid with a high around 90 degrees. That will begin a short heat wave that will last through Wednesday. High temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday will be around 93 degrees, and there potential to reach as high as 95 degrees on Tuesday. Aside from a slight chance of some widely scattered thunderstorms on Monday night, it is expected to be dry Tuesday and Wednesday, although dew points will be uncomfortably high... in the low 70's. Another strong low pressure storm center will develop over the northern plains on Tuesday, and move to northern Minnesota on Wednesday keeping the Stateline in the heat and humidity. On Thursday, a cold front moving in from the northwest... will bring the next chance of thunderstorms, and cause temperatures to tumble with high's back down in the 70's. The front will stop across central Illinois, and be close enough that chances for more thunderstorms will continue off and on through Sunday.
