The Autumnal Equinox was this morning (meaning fall has officially begun) at 4:04am local time. This occurs when the sun's most direct rays are on the equator. From here on out our daylight hours will be getting shorter and shorter until we reach the Winter Solstice in December and then the sun's rays will begin to migrate back north.
