9:45 am Update: Light snow flurries have been falling here at the WTVO studio with light snow extending from Stockton, Lanark, Shannon, Monroe, Freeport, Forreston and Rockford.
Report from the Quad Cities National Weather Service: Spotter report of snow 4 miles northwest of Dubuque, IA
A system moving in from the northwest this morning will continue to spread light rain, and even light snow, across Wisconsin and Illinois. Earlier this morning the rain changed over to all snow in northeast Iowa and near La Crosse, WI with it even sticking in some spots. There still remains a light rain/snow mix to the north with a chilly rain continuing into the afternoon and evening. I wouldn't be surprised if locations near the Illinois/Wisconsin border actually saw snow through 10am. Areas most likely to see snow or a rain/snow mix will be Stockton, Elizabeth, Monroe, Albany, Brodhead, Warren, Orangeville, Lake Summerset, Beloit and Janesville.
There have also been reports of sleet north of Cedar Rapids, IA as the temperatures sit right around freezing. Don't forget the umbrella and jacket today because the rain and cloud cover will keep temperatures in the chilly mid 40s.
