It's sure looking like it! And it's been a while since we've seen 70° in Rockford... not to mention most of the Stateline.
The last time we saw a high of 70° in Rockford was last October. As of Thursday, we've gone 180 days without a high of 70° in the Forest City, which is the 11th longest streak on record.
In terms of our first 70° day of the year, Rockford is about a week behind schedule, but we have a legitimate shot at 70° on Saturday.
And let's hope we get there. Showers and storms Saturday night and Sunday will knock temperatures down for the start of next week and long-term models are suggesting that below-average temps could stick around through the end of April. -BA
