A cold front will be quick to move in Thursday as the low pressure that brought over an inch and a half of rain to areas southeast of Rockford moves into Michigan later this afternoon. This next system, however, won't have nearly as much moisture to work with in the atmosphere so we're not expecting as much rainfall, although a thunderstorm or two can't be ruled out midday. Also, this next system is coming in so quickly behind Wednesday morning's low, that the atmosphere won't have much time to recharge before the cold front moves through. This, combined with limited forcing from the jet stream will keep the storm threat on the lower side. After the front passes, a much more comfortable air mass moves in Thursday night where a few overnight lows could dip into the upper 40's by Friday morning.
