Drought conditions haven't been overly severe in Northern Illinois, but dry conditions were becoming a bit of a problem for some. But, with the heavy rainfall we've had earlier this week, Northern Illinois is no longer considered in the abnormally dry category. Still, drought conditions persist across central and far Southeast Wisconsin with moderate drought conditions in a few counties.
More rain is in the forecast for Friday and early Saturday, but after that the skies look dry until late next week - at the earliest.
As scattered thunderstorms develop during the afternoon and evening Friday, heavier downpours will be possible. Rainfall amounts up to an inch, or higher, will be possible with any stronger storms.
