If cloud cover cooperates Tuesday night, we might get a glimpse of the Northern Lights in Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin. The forecast for auroral activity will be high, 6 out of 9. Best viewing of the Northern Lights will be over southern Canada, but could extend down to Minneapolis and Milwaukee.
The Northern Lights may be visible low on the horizon as far south as Boise, ID, Lincoln, NE, St. Louis, MO and Indianapolis, IN.
So after the sun sets, look to the north and low on the horizon. There are a few clouds present this evening, but those should continue to clear through the evening.
