Tonight, a cold front will approach from the northwest today. Ahead of the front, strong to severe storms will be possible through central Wisconsin and portions of Iowa. By the time the front arrives to the area, the timing won't be as conducive to severe weather but we could see some stronger storms this evening. Heavy rain and some strong wind gusts will be possible through early Friday morning. A few showers will linger into the morning, but it will be a mainly dry day.
High pressure will then move in behind the front, as the front settles to the south. Through the weekend the rain will stay south of us, in southern Illinois and through the mid-south. Our winds will turn in to the northwest because of the high pressure system, this will bring in more comfortable air that will be cooler and drier. We will see a lot of sun with highs in the 80's through Sunday.
Unfortunately for those that aren't a fan of the heat, it looks to make another appearance
next week.
