High temperatures Wednesday afternoon warmed into the low to mid 50s
across much of northern Illinois, but only into the upper 30s in
southern Wisconsin. Those numbers have now cooled off quite a bit
following a cold front, and have fallen into the low 30s area wide.
North winds remain strong, gusting at times to 30 mph pushing wind
chills down into the low 20s.
Snow has redeveloped to the north across Iowa and Wisconsin, moving
east/southeast. This band of snow will slowly sink south through the
evening, moving into northern Illinois between 7pm and 10pm. Most of
the snow will remain light with only a dusting expected across northern
Illinois, but up to an inch a little further north of the state line.
Skies will turn mostly cloudy after Midnight and then partly cloudy by
Thursday morning. Temperatures will quickly drop into the low 20s by
sunrise, but wind chills will be in the low teens, and even single
digits.
