Possible Severe Weather Monday Night

After what has been a very dry summer so far, we could see several rounds of showers and storms this week. Some of those storms could be severe, starting with tonight.

SPC Severe Outlook for Monday Night
The Storm Prediction Center has the entire Stateline under a slight risk for severe weather through Tuesday morning. Storms could be strong wind and hail producers with heavy downpours in spots. Our timeline right now is a chance for storms this afternoon and early evening, with much better storm chances after dark and continuing into Tuesday morning.

Storms are expected to be concentrated along a cold front that will swing south through the area as we go through the night. Since it will be a fairly slow moving front, storms are expected to regenerate over the same areas, which is why we are calling for heavy rainfall in spots. Models are showing an inch or more of rain in some of the hardest hit areas tonight.

Current radar is already showing some activity off to our northwest. Expect this to develop into the Stateline later tonight. Stay with the First Warn Weather Team throughout the day for the latest on any severe weather development.
