Frost Advisory in the Great Lakes...Significant flooding in the southwest

Cut-off low pressure spinning in the west and high pressure across north Texas have caused significant flooding to take place across portions of Colorado within the past 24-36 hours and now dangerous flooding is occurring in northern New Mexico.  Rainfall rates of nearly 4" per hour have occurred in northern New Mexico with evacuations beginning to take place.  Flash Flood Watches and Warnings have been issued for most of the state of New Mexico while Flood Watches and Warnings continue for many counties in Colorado.  One of the hardest hit areas in Colorado has been near Boulder where numerous reports of flash flooding have been received.

Further northeast drier air moving into the Great Lakes is causing a significant cool down.  Frost Advisories and even Freeze Warnings have been issued for parts of Michigan for late tonight through Saturday morning.  Temperatures there are expected to drop into the low 30s under high pressure.
