Dodging A Bullet?

UPDATE (10:25pm): We are waiting on the latest model runs to finish up, but it looks as though our next storm system could be tracking a little further north than originally thought. So what does this mean for us? Potentially... more snow. How much more? That is still to be determined. At this point, look for several inches of accumulation to be possible overnight Tuesday. Candice will have a much better idea of what to expect in the morning. -BA

Original Post: While Monday was very spring-like, it is still technically winter, and we have another chance at snow starting Tuesday night.

We'll be warm enough Tuesday afternoon to see a few showers, but as we cool off Tuesday night, we will see those showers change to snow. Fortunately, it looks like the worst of this next system will stay to our south. Winter Storm Watches will be in effect Tuesday night and Wednesday for areas south of Chicago into northern Indiana and southern Michigan. This is where the heaviest snow is expected to fall.

As for the Stateline, 1-3" inches of accumulating snow will be possible late Tuesday evening into early Wednesday morning. Look for slightly heavier totals closer to the I-88 corridor.

Snow Forecast for Tuesday Night as of Monday.
Since the models are still in some disagreement as to the path of this next storm, the snow forecast could still change a little. Chief meteorologist Candice King will have an update Tuesday morning starting at 5:00am on Eyewitness News More Local in the Morning on WTVO Channel 17. -BA
