With the rain we've had the past 24 hours combined with the rainfall expected next week, we could easily reach the monthly total - and then some - within the first two weeks of November.
A large area of low pressure will move into the upper Plains this weekend bringing rain and snow across the Dakotas and Minnesota and gusty winds for us. A weakening cold front will move through Sunday which could bring a few showers with it during the evening. That cold front will then stall to our south Sunday night and Monday as another area of low pressure develops in the southwest. Gulf moisture will be able to lift further north with this next system and run into the stalled boundary as the low pulls up through Missouri and into Iowa by Wednesday morning. Heavy rainfall totals, possible exceeding two inches, will be possible going into the middle of the week.
