Some Snow Mixing In?
Light to moderate rain is now impacting most of the Stateline region. Although temperatures are still sitting in the low to mid-40s (generally too warm to support snow), portions of northeast Iowa are in the mid to upper-30s. As this colder air works into our area, some snowflakes may briefly mix-in with the rain. We could also see some brief bursts of heavier precipitation pull colder air aloft down to the surface, which would help support this change-over. With the warm ground, the light nature of the snow, and air temperatures still above freezing, no accumulation is expected.
