Temperatures Sunday were tempered a little due to cloud cover and rain showers early in the day. Once the skies cleared, however, highs warmed quickly into the mid and upper 60s. Temperatures on Monday are expected to warm even further, reaching the low 70s during the afternoon.
A cold front will pass Sunday evening bringing with it a chance for showers/isolated thunderstorms through roughly 10pm. After that, skies are expected to remain partly cloudy with lows falling into the mid 40s.
Winds Monday shift back around to the southwest pulling in an unseasonably mild air mass for the beginning of April with highs warming into the low 70s. It won't quite be record warmth, but it will be the first 70 degree day for Rockford of the season. Another cold front moves through Monday night but with very little moisture associated with it skies will stay dry. Highs on Tuesday will be cooler but still in the 60s.
