The Rockford area will see highs on Tuesday only in the mid-50's with spotty showers throughout the day as bitterly cold air continues to flow into the area from the northeast. That's 17 degrees below the average high temperature for the day! Conditions change drastically, however, with a Wednesday high of 80 degrees as winds shift more southerly bringing us some of that warm Gulf of Mexico air. Highs will continue to reach the mid to upper-70's through the weekend although the muggy air brings us the threat for a few showers and thunderstorms over the next several days. However, it's looking like an overall pleasant Memorial Day weekend ahead.
