Road Conditions

Courtesy: I-DOT
According to I-Dot's website, all roads in northern Illinois are snow-covered at the present time. In fact, as the map at left shows, so are the roads all the way down into much of central and even southern Illinois. (For more information on road conditions, click here).

I just spoke with one of my co-workers who ventured out in this mess at about 7:30pm and he said that drifts are out there, even on some of the main roads! The most challenging part of being out in this is that the visibility is so poor, it's tough to tell where the road IS at times!

Boone and Stephenson counties, in fact, are pulling their plows OFF the roads until 4am. So our advice continues to be: Stay off the roads if at all possible!
