THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHICAGO HAS ISSUED A WIND CHILL

ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM CST /10 PM EST/ THIS

EVENING TO NOON CST /1 PM EST/ THURSDAY. THE WIND CHILL WATCH IS

NO LONGER IN EFFECT.



* TIMING...9 PM CST THIS EVENING UNTIL NOON CST THURSDAY.



* WIND CHILLS...20 TO 25 BELOW ZERO ACROSS NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND

NORTHWEST INDIANA AND 25 TO 30 BELOW ZERO ACROSS NORTH CENTRAL

ILLINOIS WEST OF THE CHICAGO METRO AND INTERSTATE 55.



* IMPACTS...FROSTBITE COULD QUICKLY DEVELOP ON EXPOSED SKIN.

HYPOTHERMIA COULD QUICKLY SET IN.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



A WIND CHILL ADVISORY MEANS THAT VERY COLD AIR AND STRONG WINDS

WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE LOW WIND CHILLS. THIS WILL RESULT IN

FROST BITE AND LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN.

IF YOU MUST VENTURE OUTDOORS...MAKE SURE YOU WEAR A HAT AND

GLOVES.
