A Very Cold Week on the Way

Arctic air will gradually edge into the Stateline during the next 24 hours. There could be some more snow showers, but accumulations will be mimimal. The clouds will break up on Monday night as serious arctic air settles into the Stateline. The temperatures will drop to near -3 with wind chills between -10 and -20. High temps on Tuesday and Wednesday will likely be only in the the high single digits, and the low on Wednesday night will be around -13. If it gets that cold that will be the coldest overnight low so far this winter season. It appears as if there will be a significant pattern change late in the week bringing much warmer Pacific modified air to overspread the midwest pushing temperatures back up into the middle 30's by next Saturday. No signifcant storm systems are expected during the next 7 days.
