Another Warm-Category Record

Here we go again!

The mercury continues to climb to unprecedented standards this month. No, we didn't best our record high for the date, but we did break another interesting record in Rockford. Today's high of 74 is the 12th time we've hit 70 degrees or higher in March of 2012. This is the most days we've reached or exceeded 70 in March! (The previous record was 11 days in 1910.)

Although another 70 degree day will be tough to achieve before the month's end, temperatures will still be somewhat above average through Saturday. And it could be enough to break another record... Our warmest March ever! Stay tuned...

  1. When is the last time we set 5 consecutive day high temp records, and 8 in 9 days - any month any year? Of for that matter, when is the last time we set 9 in a row consecutive day record high minimum temps?
