Comfortable Weekend Ahead

Plans for Mother's Day weekend? You'll have to dodge a few scattered showers, otherwise its going to be a great weekend! Low 80's today with mostly sunny skies and southwesterly winds around 5-15mph. We'll be watching a cold front that will head south Saturday morning. With the timing of the front early in the day, it won't really be conducive to storms as it will be hard to gain enough instability, but a few rumbles of thunder will be possible. Better storm changes lie south of the area; closer to Peoria and Springfield. Central Illinois could even see a few stronger storms Saturday afternoon.

If you're headed out to the CincoK Saturday in Rochelle, you'll want to keep an umbrella handy. The start of the race will be a bit soggy but a lot of the rain will be exiting the area as the run and walk kicks off. If you wanted to head out and enjoy it, it's from 1:00 to 3:00pm Saturday at the Four Sister's Bike Path on 1100 Calvin Road in Rochelle. It's a kick off to their Cinco de Mayo festival. You can find more about in under the events section here at mystateline.com!

Clouds will decrease a bit for Saturday afternoon once the front settles south. Sunday looks like a great day with temperatures near 70° and a lot more sunshine.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!
