Something to Look Forward to After a Gloomy Weekend

It was much needed rain, but did it have to take up the entire weekend?  Monday afternoon was dry, just a little more on the cloudy side.  Tuesday we should see more sunshine, but then a cold front brings us back nearly 10 degrees below average again.  So, what do we have to look forward to for the month of May?  A lot of things!

Average highs at the beginning of the month are typically in the upper 60's.  But by the end of the month the average high warms up a toasty 77 degrees!  While we've had a handful of 70's and 80's during the month of April, the temperatures have always fallen back.  As we get further and further into May the warmer weather becomes more of the norm than the unusual.  That's definitely something to look forward to.

Monthly rainfall totals increase as well, with the expected average monthly rainfall just over four inches.  Overall, we've had a pretty quiet start to severe weather season in the Stateline.  But typically the months of May and June see an uptick in severe weather.  Not only locally, but nationally.  So even though we've been quiet these past few weeks, it's always important to stay prepared.
