Storm Threat this Week

Monday looks to be an almost exact copy of the warm and beautiful afternoon we had on Sunday where we warmed into the mid 80's under a mostly sunny sky. Today will warm again into the mid 80's with lots of sun and minimal humidity.

Humidity increases for the week as the strong high pressure we had last week shifts to the east. This will change the upper level flow from the northwest that we had last week, to the southwest. This will pump in the warmth and a more humid air mass this week with dew points forecast to reach the mid and possibly upper 60's. Temperatures will stay for the majority of the week, in the low 80's, but the rain and storm potential will go up through midweek.

Monday's storm threat will stay west closer to the cold front through the afternoon, but inches closer Tuesday. More moisture arrives Tuesday, and a few lingering showers and storms will be possible in the morning through midday, from the activity west of us Monday night. Most of Tuesday looks to be dry, with stronger storms possible to the west and south of northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin.

Wednesday and Wednesday night looks to be the most active time, with showers and storms likely. The boundary will turn more to a warm front and stall near the area. Right now the front is forecast is stall in southern potions of the Stateline, and this would get the stronger storm threat south of I-80 and 88,  through central and southern Illinois, as well as west into Iowa and Kansas.
