Monday Evening Weather Update

A Flood Advisory has been issued for southeast Lee and southwest DeKalb counties until 1:45am.  Radar estimated rainfall amounts between 9:15pm and 10:45pm are close to two inches in those areas!  Minor flooding is very well possible.

After a pretty quiet evening isolated showers and thunderstorms have developed south and west of Rockford.  The storms west of Rockford in Iowa have been weakening, but haven't completely faded.  They've also remained fairly stationary over northeast Iowa, moving into southwest Wisconsin.

Just within the past hour storms have developed south of Rochelle in Lee County and are very slowly pulling east and northeast.  Biggest threat from these storms will be heavy rainfall and frequent lightning.  Any type of lift in the upper levels of the atmosphere Monday evening remain fairly weak.  That's why these storms are not moving very fast.  Widely scattered storms continue Monday night and will likely redevelop by Tuesday afternoon.
