Sunday Evening Severe Thunderstorm Warning

8:10pm Update: All Severe Thunderstorm Warnings have been allowed to expire with severe storms staying out of our main viewing area.  There are a few showers that continue to move through, with one now moving towards Pecatonica and Winnebago.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been extended for the rest of Walworth County until 8:15pm Sunday evening.  The strongest part of the storm was moving through North Prairie and Eagle, Wisconsin and has had a history of producing wind damage.  If in its path, seek shelter until the storm passes.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Rock and Walworth counties until 7:30pm Sunday evening.  A strong upper level low in Wisconsin has produced numerous showers and thunderstorms, some of which have become severe.

The severe warned storm will miss Janesville to the northeast, but likely have more of an impact on Walworth and Racine counties in Southeast Wisconsin.  Wind gusts to 70 mph are the biggest threat, with hail close to one inch.  Those in the path of the storm should seek shelter indoors until the storm passes.

Further south, additional showers have been developing over Northern Illinois and are currently moving southeast.  These are not expected to be severe and will only produce moderate to heavy rainfall.  A strong wind gust or two is also possible.
