Weekend Outlook

Memorial Day weekend was the 'unofficial' kick off to summer and summer activities are really starting to ramp up.

There are a lot of events taking place this weekend: Harvard Milk Days, Rt. 75 Garage Sales, Friday Night Flix, Leaf River Daze, etc.  And the start of the weekend isn't looking half bad.

Friday will be a repeat of Thursday's weather - highs near 80 degrees under partly cloudy skies.  Unfortunately the weekend won't be quite as nice.  Temperatures Saturday will warm into the 70's, upper 70's and low 80's if we can hold off on any of the cloud cover.  An approaching low pressure system from the Northwest will pull a little more moisture northward through the Plains and Midwest Friday and Saturday.

Stronger thunderstorms are possible Friday over Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota with the threat shifting slightly further east for Saturday.  Saturday's storm threat will depend on just how much cloud cover there is to start the day and if we get any decent sun to heat the atmosphere.

Sunday is looking a little cooler.  One forecast model wants to keep our highs in the upper 60's!  That's not very summer-like.  Right now I'm forecasting highs in the low 70's with mostly cloudy skies and spotty showers from time to time.

Not a completely wasted weekend, but not quite as nice as this past weekend.  So enjoy what you can!
