West Coast Ridge Brings Cooler Temperatures to the Stateline

A large ridge in the jetstream will strengthen over the west coast and the Rockies through the weekend. As the ridge builds the warmth for them will build as well. Temperatures for northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin however will be cooler than what we've experienced for the passed 11 days, where we saw the 80's. This week highs will be in the 70's through most of the weekend and the start of next week. A trough or dip in the jetstream will be over the Midwest, Great Lakes and East Coast through Tuesday.

But this could mean a nice warm up for the Stateline by the end of next week. The ridge looks to hold through next week, but also moves west. If models hold and that ridge does shift east, then we could be talking highs in the upper 80's by the end of next week.
