FLOOD WARNING UPDATE

After several rounds of rain showers and thunderstorms have moved through our area over the past few days, expect a few more rounds of rain showers and thunderstorms to move through. With all this rain falling across the area over the past week, and with a few more inches of rain possible over the next couple of days, river flooding is expected to occur in our area.

Here is a partial list of the area rivers that are expected to reach flood stage within the week. As always, if you have any questions feel free to email weather@wtvo.com

MINOR FLOOD STAGE

Rock River at Afton, WI is currently at Minor Flood Stage with a water height of 10.3 feet. The river is expected to rise to 11.0 feet (high-end Minor Flood Stage) by Sunday Night and remain at flood level through the next five days.

Sugar River at Brodhead, WI is currently at Minor Flood Stage with a water height of 6.9 feet. The river is expected to remain near this height through Monday Afternoon before dropping below flood stage by Tuesday Night.

Kishwaukee River at Perryville, IL is currently below flood stage with a water height of 8.3 feet. The river is expected to rise to 13.5 feet (Minor Flood Stage) by Sunday Night/early Monday Morning before dropping below flood stage by Tuesday Night.

MODERATE FLOOD STAGE

Pecatonica River at Shirland, IL is currently at Moderate Flood Stage with a water height of 14.0 feet. The river is expected to rise to 14.8 feet (Moderate Flood Stage) by Tuesday Night and remain at this level through the work week.

Rock River at Rockton, IL is currently at Minor Flood Stage with a water height of 10.5 feet. The river is expected to rise to 12.5 feet (Moderate Flood Stage) by Tuesday Morning and remain near this height through the work week.

Rock River at Latham Park, IL is currently at Minor Flood Stage with a water height of 10.7 feet. The river is expected to rise to 12.5 feet (Moderate Flood Stage) by Tuesday Morning and remain near this height through the work week.

Rock River at Byron, IL is currently below flood stage with a water height of 12.1 feet. The river is expected to rise to 15.5 feet by Monday Evening and remain within Moderate Flood Stage through Friday Morning.

Pecatonica River at Freeport, IL is currently at Minor Flood Stage with a water height of 13.3 feet. The river is expected to rise to 15.3 feet by Tuesday Evening and remain within the Moderate Flood Stage through the work week.

MAJOR FLOOD STAGE

There are currently no rivers in our area that are expected to reach the Major Flood Stage.
