Major River Flooding Continues

Significant flooding continues along the Rock and Pecatonica Rivers, with most points at the higher end of moderate flood stage.  The rivers are expected to crest in moderate flood stage, with the exception of the Pecatonica River at Shirland, which is nearing major flood stage, by late this week or weekend.

Here are where the current water levels are at, and when they are expected to crest:

PECATONICA RIVER:
Freeport: 15.29ft  - Moderate Flood Stage
Crest: 15.5ft - Friday Moderate Flood Stage

Shirland:
15.25ft - Moderate Flood Stage
Crest: 15.5ft - Friday Major Flood Stage

ROCK RIVER:
Rockton: 12.31ft - Moderate Flood Stage
Crest: 13.1ft - Friday Moderate Flood Stage

Latham Park: 12.76ft - Moderate Flood Stage
Crest: 13.3ft - Friday Moderate Flood Stage

Byron: 14.28ft - Moderate Flood Stage
Crest: 14.7ft - Friday - Moderate Flood Stage

Dixon:  15.8ft - Action Flood Stage
Crest: 16ft - Saturday Minor Flood Stage

Even as the rivers crest into the weekend they will still remain in moderate flood stage through next week.
