Record Rainfall - Tranquil Tuesday - Wildly Warm Wednesday

The showers and storms late yesterday, brought quite a bit of rainfall to the Stateline area. Here in Rockford, we broke the daily rainfall record for October 1st. The old record was set back in 1926 of 1.55" of rain, but yesterday we picked up 1.65".
After the record rainfall in Rockford yesterday, we will have a tranquil Tuesday. Expect mainly cloudy skies and highs warming into the mid 60s this afternoon. The tranquility is interrupted by a wildly warm Wednesday. Highs on Wednesday will warm into the lower 80s. To put it into perspective, our average should be in the upper 60s. The warmth doesn't last long, as 70s return to end the work week and going into the weekend.
